AL's Cyber Defense Diary

Hi! I'm Al, but my friends call me Aslah. I really like technology, especially learning about how to keep data safe from unauthorized use. My interest in tech started with a special gift from my dad—a really old IBM computer. That computer showed me a whole new world and helped me decide what I wanted to do in the future. Now, I live in Dallas, Texas, and I use my skills in engineering and my love for computer safety to work as a private security investigator. My job is all about solving computer mysteries and stopping hackers.

When I'm not working on computer security, I like to play with my Raspberry Pi. It's a small computer that lets me try out new ideas and learn more about technology.

Even though I work with serious computer security stuff, I'm really just someone who loves to see what we can do with computers and coding.

I started this blog to share stories about protecting ourselves from online dangers, the fun of playing with tech gadgets, and all sorts of tech adventures. This blog is for anyone who likes technology, wants to keep their online world safe, or enjoys stories about tech adventures. Get ready for some fun stories!

My adventure in cybersecurity really kicked off when I set up my own VPN (a way to keep my internet use safe) on a server. I soon saw that hackers were trying to attack my server. This was a big eye-opener for me. It showed me how important it is to protect our online world. This experience made me even more curious and determined to learn about keeping the internet safe. It was an important step on my journey into the world of technology.

Now, I'm always looking into every tool and solution I come across. I have a huge desire to learn and try out more, whether it's open-source or not. I'm a big fan of open-source and try to help out with these projects whenever I can. Sharing and contributing to the open-source community is really important to me. It's all about making technology better and more accessible for everyone.

On top of all this, I'm proud to say that I hold CISSP and CySA+ certifications. These certifications are a testament to my dedication to cybersecurity. Right now, I'm continuing to broaden my expertise by studying at Penn State. This journey of learning never ends, and I'm excited to see where it will take me next in the world of technology and cybersecurity.

Who am I?
